The working principle involves using compressed air to propel high-density dry ice pellets at an extremely low temperature of -78°C to near-supersonic speeds. When these pellets strike the surface being cleaned, the sudden drop in temperature causes the dirt to become brittle and crack. The dry ice particles then penetrate the cracks and quickly sublimate into gas, expanding almost 800 times in volume, effectively lifting the dirt off the surface.
